The Nevada Democratic Party registered 1,590 more voters in March than the state Republican Party did, according to figures released by the Secretary of State's office on Tuesday.
It marks the first time in five months state Democrats have increased their active voter registration edge over state Republicans. State Democrats currently maintain a 48,654 active voter registration edge in the state, down from a December 2008 peak of 104,556.
By the end of March there were 403,565 active Republican voters (an increase of 954 voters from February) and 452,219 active Democratic voters (an increase of 2,544 voters from February). There are 1,095,017 total active voters in Nevada, an increase of 6,076 from February.
